County FA Operational Delivery Manager

Overview of the role:

  • To manage the successful implementation of change programmes and projects that are in place in order to deliver the CFA strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • To support the Head of CFA Operations with programme and project management ensuring the appropriate delivery  of such projects, in particular to ensure that the overall  programme is  prioritised to deliver the most effective outcomes in a timely manner
  • To work closely with other departments to ensure there is a fully collaborative approach to all work-streams that impact the CFAs and that all projects are mapped into the overall CFA programme
  • To work closely with various stakeholders to help define the Operating Model for the CFAs and the associated Standard Operating Manuals (SOM’s) that are required
  • Where necessary , write appropriate materials that may be required as part of the SOM’s or other guidance that may be required from time to time
  • To ensure feasibility studies / clear insights are used to steer decision making
  • To ensure that all projects have clearly measurable outcomes and that the principles of ‘plan, do, review’ are applied to ensure lessons learnt are captured along the way
  • Support the Head of CFA Operations in the development of KPIs and enabling minimum operating standards that follow the operating model review, developing a balanced scorecard to measure CFA Strategy delivery
  • Support development and project management of none departmental led programmes for the CFA market
  • Lead CFA business strategy planning process
  • Support the CFA workforce review process
  • Support development of CFA operational planning process, monitoring and evaluation process

Who we are looking for: 

Essential Skills

  • Clear communicator, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to distil complex ideas into simple actions
  • Experience of CFA operations and the programmes and policies and grass roots football
  • Knowledge of the workings of County FAs and The FA
  • Track record of implementing strategies and policy decisions and delivering results and raising standards of performance 
  • Evidenced success in leading transformational change programmes
  • Commercial and business development skills
  • Passion and enthusiasm for all areas of equality and inclusivity
  • A good degree of IT literacy across Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Personal robustness and a positive attitude
  • Experience of collaborative working with different stakeholders across different organisational departments and levels

  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Coaching and Mentoring skills
  • Ability to present to large groups

Please note that this role is home based with the need for the postholder to be in Wembley 2/3 times per week.
