FA Learning Apprentice - St George’s Park

(14 month Fixed Term contract)

St. George’s Park is The FA Group’s headquarters for The FA Football Development team and FA Learning, as well as being the training home of the 24 England representative teams. 
The vision for St George’s Park is:
 
  • To become a training destination of choice for coaches, players, administrators and officials from all backgrounds and communities within football and beyond;
  • To become the home of English football development, bringing to life and embodying the ‘whole-game’ coaching and playing philosophy outlined in The FA’s Technical Guide, The Future Game;
  • To become a one-stop coaching and support environment which enhances personal development, leadership qualities, rehabilitation and fitness;
  • To offer all its facilities and services beyond sport and facilitate cross-learning between the sporting and business sectors.
 
In partnership with Burton & South Derbyshire College*, The FA is seeking to appoint 2 FA Learning Apprentices, who will support FAL Coordinators in the administration of FAL courses and educational programmes, to ensure a high level of customer service is provided, accurate records are kept and course numbers are maximised.  
 
Key aspects of the role include;
 
·         Assisting in the co-ordination of allocated projects and programme of activities.
·         Helping to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget and producing work of a very high standard
·         Contributing to team planning and process meetings including attendance at events, CFA visits and departmental away days where required
·         Establishing a good rapport with all stakeholders, in particular other Disciplines, County FAs, Course Directors, National Coaches and FA Tutors
·         Servicing customer day-to-day enquiries relating to courses/conferences in an efficient, timely and helpful manner
·         Maintaining up-to-date qualification records on the FA internal IT Applications and databases on an ongoing basis
·         Assisting and providing administrative support to the FA Learning Coordinators as directed, to include assistance with any educational matters or projects as required
·         Monitoring the FA Learning and Licensed Coaches Club hotlines alongside other coordinators on a daily basis
 
Successful candidates should possess;
 
·         An enthusiastic, confident, reliable and helpful nature
·         Good numeracy skills
·         Accurate typing skills
·         Sound knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, and the internet
·         Willing to learn and committed to their own personal development
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in order to engage with people at all levels in the football family
·         The ability to take on responsibility effectively
·         The ability to work well as part of a team, and the confidence to contribute to team ideas and the departmental and divisional strategy
·         The ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, meet deadlines and use own initiative.as well as a willingness to work at times unsociable hours, including some evenings/weekends.
 
Please note candidates must not have a degree and must not have already done an apprenticeship (unless they are progressing to a higher level).
 
Training to be provided in partnership with Burton & South Derbyshire College will be:
 
·         Business Administration intermediate Apprenticeship
·         Business Administration Level 2 QCF (Work based)
·         Technical Certificate in Business Administration
·         Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT Level 1 (Relaxations apply)
·         Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

*Burton and South Derbyshire College is a medium sized general further education college. The College offers a wide range of full-time and part-time Further and Higher Education courses for school leavers who wish to continue their education and adults wishing to widen and develop their skills.  Bespoke training solutions are provided for business and commerce (including mandatory courses) and the College delivers a broad range of Apprenticeships.
