FA Operations Apprentice - St George’s Park
(14 month Fixed Term contract)
St. George’s Park is The FA Group’s headquarters for The FA Football Development team and FA Learning, as well as being the training home of the 24 England representative teams. 
The vision for St George’s Park is:
  • To become a training destination of choice for coaches, players, administrators and officials from all backgrounds and communities within football and beyond;
  • To become the home of English football development, bringing to life and embodying the ‘whole-game’ coaching and playing philosophy outlined in The FA’s Technical Guide, The Future Game;
  • To become a one-stop coaching and support environment which enhances personal development, leadership qualities, rehabilitation and fitness;
  • To offer all its facilities and services beyond sport and facilitate cross-learning between the sporting and business sectors.
In partnership with Burton & South Derbyshire College*, The FA is seeking to appoint an Operations Apprentice to work within the Facilities Management Team at St George’s Park. This role will support in the successful delivery and coordination of operations and events at SGP as well as helping to ensure that resources are managed in line with correct policies and procedure.
Key aspects of the role include;
·         Assisting in the planning and delivery of the events operation.
·         Helping to make efficient use of resources, human and equipment, to full fill events support roles.
·         Using the existing booking system to manage and plan events.
·         Working with Commercial and Hotel booking teams to investigate and plan events.
·         Assist in the running of spectator and event management of traffic flow in to and out of the facility.
·         Supporting the administration tasks with the facilities management team.
·         Ensuring correct safety and planning paperwork relating to operations are in order and available for inspection.
·         Assist the Facilities Manager in control of assets, movements of equipment and operation across the site.
Successful candidates should possess;
·         An enthusiastic, confident, reliable and ‘can do’ nature
·         Good PC skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, and the internet
·         Willing to learn and committed to their own personal development
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in order to engage with internal & external customers at all levels
·         The ability to take on responsibility effectively
·         The ability to work well on their own or as part of a team
·         The ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, meet deadlines and use own initiative.as well as a willingness to work at times unsociable hours, including some evenings/weekends
Please note candidates must not have a degree and must not have already done an apprenticeship (unless they are progressing to a higher level).
Training to be provided in partnership with Burton & South Derbyshire College will be;
·         Business Administration advanced Apprenticeship
·         Business Administration Level 3 QCF (Work based)
·         Technical Certificate in Business Administration
·         Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT Level 2 (Relaxations apply)
·         Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

*Burton and South Derbyshire College is the Official College Partner for St. George’s Park. The College offers a wide range of full-time and part-time Further and Higher Education courses for school leavers who wish to continue their education and adults wishing to widen and develop their skills.
