The Football Association (The FA) is the governing body of football in England and is responsible for promoting and developing the game at all levels from grassroots through to the professional game, The FA Cup and the England International Teams.
The FA is a multi faceted organisation with a turnover of approximately £300m and is also the parent body of Wembley National Stadium Limited and the National Football Centre Limited, operators of St. George’s Park. The FA’s main revenue streams include: media rights; sponsorship; merchandising and ticketing. It is a not for profit organisation with all surpluses being redistributed back into the game.
The FA requires a Technical Director to assume the responsibility for leading the Technical Development programme at The FA. The Technical Director will work alongside the Director of Football Development to create and implement technical strategy in line with The FA Strategic Plan.
The Technical Director should have a vision for the development of the game and will be required to think strategically about raising the standards of both the elite and grassroots game, putting measures in place to ensure English coaches and players maximise their opportunity for success in coming years and into the next decade.
The Technical Director will work closely with representatives from the Premier League and the Football League, leading The FA input to support the implementation of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). In particular, the Technical Director will lead and manage a world class, qualified and licensed national coach education workforce and programme. 
The Technical Director will co-ordinate the provision of a continuously developing and world class staff within the Performance and Medical teams at St. George’s Park covering Performance Analysis, Sports Science and Medicine, Psychology and Scouting/Recruitment. These services will support all England International teams and be available to professional football more widely. 
Ideally you will have experience in the professional game and coaching at the highest levels. You will possess both the ability and the gravitas to develop and implement a world class vision, and manage a large and complex group of stakeholders domestically and internationally. You will have exceptional leadership, relationship and influencing skills to complement your knowledge insight and vision for English football. You will possess excellent communication skills and ideally will be experienced at dealing with the media. Candidates must hold a UEFA Pro Diploma or FA Coaching Diploma (or equivalent).
